Hell Just Froze Over

We can no longer afford business as usual with prisons. The criminal justice system is broken, and conservatives must lead the way in fixing it.

Conservatives broke it and now they want to fix it. Good for them. It is too bad that this conversion had to result from the budget crisis instead of the revelation that "get tough" crime control polices were failing.

States like Idaho need to get busy reforming their criminal justice systems. Mandatory minimum sentencing, juvenile waivers, the "drug war," capital punishment and community corrections (probation and parole) are all issues that are in dire need of substantive reform (no lipstick on the pig, please).

This has been along time coming. But in Idaho we have an uphill fight with people like Denton Darington , Olivia Craven, Molly Husky, Greg Bower And others that have been, in my opinion ,working with their own conflicts of interests, with the victim's witness moneys, in this broken criminal justice system for yrs. These people will have to move out of the way for any foreword movement is to be made in this broken system. Their superior attitude , is beyond repair. Denton Darington believes himself KING of the senate. Making statements , like "I well support the motion and the second, only because I have a way out, nothing gets passed without me passing it as chair of the committee" and how will anything pass this, I am king attitude? this is the question

Dr. Blankenship, Can you share some of your specific ideas for reforming corrections in Idaho? I am especially interested in your thoughts on reforming community corrections.

Yes, how do we get to the people that matter and weed through the haystake. Letter and letter don't matter if they don't read them. Where are the weak spots to say Hello?
