The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over, yet expecting different results. When it comes to the so-called drug war, the evidence is clear - our society's efforts to stem the flow of drugs for the past 100 years or longer are not only fruitless, but are counterproductive.
But it is doubtful that rationality will gain a foothold among policy makers anytime soon. The criminal justice industrial complex is too depended on this failure to give up easily.

Awesome Article! We are in essence wasting money on the "War on Drugs" There is no war on drugs. It's way to powerful and it's time to wake-up and realise that. But as you said the criminal justice system will not give up that easily. Even seeing it for themselves they still dont want to fail. I think we failed a long time ago with the "War on Drugs" Again Awesome Article and a great insight!
