Shades of Willie Horton! The judge in this case made a rational decision regarding bond. In hind sight (only), this was an unfortunate decision. The loss of life is regrettable. There is no way that the judge, or any other human, could predict that the defendant would commit future violent acts. Many individuals are reacting unreasonably the the judge's bail decision.

This condemnation includes two presidential candidates - Romney, who appointed the judge, and Giuliani, who is criticizing Romney for appointing a judge who is soft on crime. Giuliani's associates not withstanding, people who live in glass houses should not throw rocks. It is despicable that any candidate would use this tragedy to grandstand, especially when the facts are so far removed from the rhetoric.
